Two Florida teenagers were arrested and charged as adults in connection with a planned “blood ritual” murder at Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs, authorities said.

Prosecutors presented video from a patrol car showing the teens laughing and joking after their arrest. In the footage shown during a bond hearing, Valdez discussed doing her makeup for the mugshot, and the pair joked about jail life. Assistant State Attorney Domenick Leo argued the teens pose a continued danger, and a judge ordered them held without bond.
Court documents detail the alleged motive behind the plot, with prosecutors stating Valdez believed killing the victim would create a “blood bond” with Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza and “resurrect him from the dead.” Messages exchanged on Discord included references to a blood ritual and instructions to bring latex gloves.
Authorities say the planned attack involved stabbing or throat-cutting the victim, leaving flowers at the scene, and smoking a cigarette afterward. Lippert allegedly drew images depicting the victim dead and hanging, alongside explicit sketches.
The plot was foiled after another student reported suspicious comments to school officials and law enforcement. Prosecutors noted that the State Attorney’s Office is pursuing the case in adult court to allow for more extensive sentencing options than juvenile court.
The case remains active in circuit court, and no trial date has been set. Prosecutors have not ruled out additional charges pending new evidence.
