US State Department Offers $10M Reward for Iran’s Mojtaba Khamenei

The US State Department announced a $10 million reward for information on Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s new Supreme Leader, and several senior figures tied to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The reward is part of the State Department’s Rewards for Justice program aimed at gathering intelligence on leaders linked to Iran’s military and security apparatus.

Mojtaba Khamenei, son of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is the primary target. The offer also includes Ali Asghar Hejazi, deputy chief of staff in the Supreme Leader’s Office, Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Yahya Rahim Safavi, a military adviser, Esmail Khatib, Iran’s intelligence minister, and Eskandar Momeni, the interior minister.

The State Department identified the IRGC as playing a central role in Iran’s use of terrorism, accusing it of orchestrating attacks against Americans and supporting terrorist groups. Since its establishment in 1979, the IRGC has expanded its influence into Iran’s political, economic, and foreign policy spheres.

Individuals providing credible information through the Rewards for Justice program may be eligible for rewards of up to $10 million. The program supports efforts to disrupt terrorist networks and identify individuals involved in attacks against US citizens or facilities.
