A New York City taxi veered off a Manhattan street on March 14, 2026, mounting the sidewalk and striking two women outside a bodega in the Lower East Side. Surveillance footage captured the taxi crashing into the storefront, damaging the building and scattering debris across the sidewalk.
Police reported the 25-year-old driver was attempting a turn when the vehicle jumped the curb and collided with the pedestrians. Both victims, aged 24 and 25, survived the crash and were hospitalized in stable condition.
