Jeremy P. Williams, a former principal of Rainier Junior/Senior High School in Oregon, was sentenced on February 23 to 61 months in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of first-degree possession of child sexual abuse images. Williams, 50, of Longview, Washington, will also be required to register as a sex offender and serve three years of supervision following his release, according to prosecutors.
Investigation and Arrest
Williams’ legal issues emerged after social media platforms detected his accounts sharing files identified as child sexual abuse material through a digital fingerprinting process known as hash matching. Authorities conducted a search of his home, confiscating phones, computers, and other devices as evidence.
He was arrested in September 2025 and booked into the Cowlitz County Jail. Investigators stated there is no indication the illicit images involved students from the Rainier School District, which serves fewer than 800 students.
Background and School District Response
Williams had already been placed on paid administrative leave after making controversial comments regarding the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The district superintendent, Chad Holloway, informed families of concerns related to Williams’ remarks and later disclosed the principal’s arrest involving child sexual abuse images.
Holloway emphasized the district’s priority on student safety, noting cooperation with law enforcement, availability of counseling services, and provisions for early dismissal for families. Authorities confirmed no students were believed to be involved in Williams’ case.
Sentencing and Public Reaction
During sentencing, Williams reportedly offered a minimal apology. The judge also ordered him to pay $3,000 in court fees. The case attracted online attention, including comments from public figures concerned about abuse by educators and the circumstances surrounding Charlie Kirk’s death.
The Rainier School District did not provide an immediate response to requests for comment.
