Sheridan Gorman, an 18-year-old freshman at Loyola University Chicago, was fatally shot near the university campus early Thursday morning, officials confirmed. The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. at Tobey Prinz Beach, less than a mile from the campus, as Gorman walked with friends.
Investigation Underway and Suspect Search
Chicago police are actively searching for a masked male suspect who approached Gorman’s group and opened fire. Authorities have stated that Gorman was not the intended target of the shooting and have not released a description or made any arrests.
