A 32-year-old Long Island woman, Brittany Kritis-Garip, has been reported missing after she jumped out of a moving vehicle in Oyster Bay last Friday evening. Surveillance footage captured her around 8 p.m. before the incident, according to her husband, Fernando Garip. He stated that she appeared panicked, threw her phone into a bush, and ran off.
Authorities and volunteers have conducted extensive search efforts since her disappearance. The Nassau County Police Department has deployed helicopters and drones as part of the ongoing investigation. Volunteers have also searched wooded, rural, and suburban areas near Oyster Bay Harbor, including about a one-mile stretch of shoreline where Kritis-Garip’s wallet was found.
Her brother, Niko Kritis, described her as “vulnerable” and urged local residents to check their properties and security cameras for any sign of her. Search organizer Sarah Castor noted that Kritis-Garip may be disoriented and frightened, emphasizing that she is not dangerous and needs assistance.
Kritis-Garip is described as a white woman with brown hair and eyes, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighing around 140 pounds. The search remains active with no confirmed sightings since the incident last Friday.
