London Fire at Golders Green Kosher Store Declared Non-Suspicious

A fire erupted early Wednesday at Kosher Kingdom, a Jewish supermarket in London’s Golders Green neighborhood, but police have confirmed the incident is not suspicious, easing concerns in a community recently targeted by attacks.

The London Fire Brigade responded to numerous calls reporting a blaze at Kosher Kingdom, mobilizing 15 fire engines and around 100 firefighters to the scene. Flames and thick black smoke were visible from the store, which includes both a ground-floor shop and a rear storage area. Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire while police assisted with road closures and evacuations.

Assistant Commissioner Craig Carter of the London Fire Brigade told reporters that the fire’s circumstances were not believed to be suspicious at this time, with preliminary reports suggesting an electrical fault may have caused the blaze. The Metropolitan Police later confirmed via social media that there was no indication the fire was targeted or deliberate, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
